It is often thanks to breakfast that we realize that our body digests cow’s milk poorly. It’s because you haven’t yet discovered vegetable milks, an excellent alternative rich in minerals, vitamins and antioxidants!

Rice milk, almond milk, soy milk, hazelnut milk, chestnut… They are called vegetable “milks”, yet it is not milk. Vegetable milk is a liquid preparation made from nuts or seeds. Some vegetable milks really look like milk, but if you’ve never tasted it, get that idea out of your head right away: vegetable milk will never taste like cow’s milk. You will therefore never be able to reproduce your usual hot chocolate… But you will discover other flavorswhich you will certainly find better!

Which vegetable milk to choose for breakfast?

Vegetable milks have very different flavors, and for breakfast, it is above all a question of taste! Rice milk is quite runny, it might bother you in a hot chocolate. Soy milk is very similar to cow’s milk, although it does have a strong taste that won’t appeal to everyone. However, it is not recommended in case of hypothyroidism, “soya contains goitrin, an enzyme which inhibits the absorption of iodine in the thyroid”*. Chestnut milk is quite thick, but it is delicious in winter, simply eaten fresh and plain. Hazelnut milk will also appeal to children.

Consuming vegetable milks will certainly push you to have want to have lunch differently, healthier. And to make your own cereal mixes, accompanied by fruit and fresh fruit juice…

For your cereals, mix for example buckwheat flakes and rice flakes. Add almonds and dried apricots. It’s good with a banana too! Add a little honey, cinnamon or rice. Then pour your vegetable milk, almond milk or hazelnut milk will be perfect.

Vegetable milk will keep for a few days in the fridge.

These vegetable milks also go very well in cakes. And you will be surprised at the flavor they bring. After all that, you’ll even want to learn how to make your own vegetable milks at home…
