Ingredients :
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup (250ml) milk
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon of sugar
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1 tbsp red hot sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
Breading:
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) regular breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup (125ml) flour
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon of pepper
- 2 cups (500 ml) oil for cooking
Preparation :
- Cut the strips against the grain of the chicken. Put in a ziplock bag.
- Combine milk, lemon juice and sugar in a small measuring cup.
- Add the cornstarch and mix.
- Add Red Hot sauce and pepper. To mix together.
- Add to ziplock bag and shake well. It makes a great marinade.
- Leave in the refrigerator for a good hour.
- Heat the oil to 375°F (190°C) in a deep fryer.
- Combine all breading ingredients together in a bowl.
- Dip each piece of chicken twice in the breading.
- Fry about 2 to 4 minutes on each side.
- Remove from fryer and drain. Eat.
- To make them in the oven: preheat to 400°F (200°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spray with oil.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, flipping halfway through.
