On February 10, Pierre Palmade hit a car on a road in Seine-et-Marne. On board were a 38-year-old man accompanied by his 6-year-old son and a 27-year-old pregnant woman who lost the baby she was expecting. The driver of the vehicle was heavily hit and has still not left Beaujon Hospital (AP-HP) in Clichy, he suffered seven surgeries. Until now, he was plunged into a coma because of the excessive pain caused by his injuries.
As reported by BFM TV, he suffers from difficulty in expressing himself and only manages to say a few words. In addition, he has memory problems and is expected to remain in hospital for several more weeks. His lawyer, Me Mourad Battikh, had also announced that he would be forced to “take medication all his life”. If his six-year-old son left the hospital on February 28, he is not fully recovered. Indeed, BFM reveals that he still suffers from the jaw and that he must wear a corset. According to his cousin, the child also has difficulty expressing himself. “He cannot feed himself, he has a probe to feed himself, he is in a very very complicated state”, detailed the lawyer.
Regarding the woman who was pregnant at the time of the accident, medical examinations confirmed that the fetus was born “viable and alive” by cesarean section. His death was declared about thirty minutes later, the child suffered “no malformations” and the death occurred in “a context of a public road accident”. Pierre Palmade was placed in pre-trial detention on February 27, he is still under judicial control.
