LFI is reorganizing and wants to set up locally

Above all, do not talk about congresses or institutionalization. La France insoumise (LFI) will never be a party, it will have no members, swear its executives. But she settles down, she anchors herself. And think about its internal organization. Like its left-wing partners who are meeting in congress this winter – on December 10 for Europe Ecologie-Les Verts (EELV), in January for the Socialist Party (PS), in April for the French Communist Party (PCF). Thursday, November 10, from the movement’s Paris headquarters, several LFI parliamentarians (Jean-Luc Mélenchon was not one of them) presented a roadmap for “popular majority” and ” to reinforce “ LFI.

On the program first, a territorial anchorage. The movement, for the moment poor in town halls, plans to buy premises, starting to establish itself in the departments where victory narrowly escaped the “rebellious” candidates in previous elections. No “federation” for this non-party, but “departmental loops” appear, equipped with a treasury and even an equalization fund between the departments. No subscription, but an annual voluntary contribution by which anyone can commit to paying over a year the amount of their choice, choosing whether they want to direct it towards such or such action group (the local level of militants ).

A “executive school”, also, supported by the La Boétie institute that Jean-Luc Mélenchon intends to oversee, with a course of about a year, said MP LFI Clémence Guetté. The objective, for the “rebellious”, is also to get closer to the social movement.

“Spectacular actions”

At a time when environmentalists are dithering over the relationship to the punch actions of young climate defense activists, La France insoumise intends to support them. “Our goal is to create a new resistance network of environmental struggles. By assuming the methods of the young green generations”declared MEP Manon Aubry, referring to the axis “agit-prop” of this new organization. “The climate emergency justifies spectacular, symbolic actions, the necessity of which we assume. »

If the partners of LFI are sometimes surprised to see the logo of the New Popular Ecological and Social Union (Nupes) on all the local events of the “rebellious”, this reorganization intends to develop the assemblies of constituency mixing the militants of the different parties of the left-wing alliance. The Nupes Parliament, which remained dormant, will be renamed “agora”a name that arguably fits better with its role as a chat room.
