Another good reason to show your teeth. From May 15 to 20, the Syndicate of orthodontic specialists is organizing a week of free screening consultations for children aged 7 to 9 years old. The list of practitioners participating in this operation near his home is available on the website.

“Early treatment can limit the duration of many treatmentslower the financial cost of the latter for the community and families, facilitate compliance for patients and relieve practices that are facing an unprecedented influx of patients”, underlines Dr. Gérard Motto, president of the SFSO in a file of ‘information.

What does the free consultation include?

A first meeting makes it possible to realize a clinical examination : an examination of the face, profile, smile, facial muscles and tongue, oral and nasal ventilation, swallowing, phonation and articulation of the jaws, as well as an intraoral examination aimed at to evaluate the relationships between each tooth. In some cases, a panoramic X-ray may also be prescribed.

Thanks to this consultation and the diagnosis made, the practitioner can then propose a treatment plan and draw up a corresponding quote. “After the first consultation, orthodontic treatments are eligible for partial reimbursement by Health Insurance for 6 semesters of active care and 2 years of retention, provided they are initiated before the patient’s 16th birthday”, recalls the Syndicate of Orthodontic Specialists.
